About DACA

Immigrants who were brought to America as children, outside the U.S. law process, are known as Dreamers. They are students, teachers, small business owners, faith leaders, health care workers, fire fighters, tech workers, and men and women in our armed services. They may be found in almost any position that an American citizen or permanent resident might fill.

Approximately 825,000 individuals have been granted DACA since it’s enacted in 2012. While they have no clear route to obtaining long-term legal status, many Dreamers hold temporary work permits. And whether through work, study, or public service, they are making important contributions to our country. An estimated 96% of recipients of DACA (the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program) are either employed or in school.

Beyond the economic impact however, Dreamers are an integral part of families and communities in all 50 states. And the real cost of not addressing their status will fall on those families and communities. Without certainty for the status of the Dreamers, students stand to lose their teachers. Employers may lose key workers. Customers may lose their doctors or lawyers. And children may lose their parents.

If we want America to continue to benefit from the Dreamers, Congress must act.

Mission

Call Me A Dreamer Foundation (CMAD) is a nonprofit organization with a mission to support DACA recipients and immigrants in their journey to achieve the American Dream. The organization achieves its mission by providing college scholarships, employment placement resources, education tools, and mentorship programs for all immigrants so they may become thriving members of society.

The Dreamers Project

Connie believes in the power of the people, and that’s why she will go directly to them, seeking their support in spreading the word about the song and the foundation.

Word of mouth will spread throughout a series of local events with the community, and the song will be played so many times that it will become unstoppable.

We will record the gatherings and the journey into making this song the anthem it was created to become so it will make it to the white house and into the hearts of those deciding for our children.

It will start in California, and it will spread all over the nation.
